CUSTOMER INFORMATION

Terms & Conditions.

How we handle bespoke design, manufacture, installation and customer aftercare.

Provisional draft · October 2026 · Subject to director agreement and legal review before contractual use.

1. About us

These Terms & Conditions apply to goods and services supplied by Caledonian National Cabinetry Ltd (CNC), company number SC897597, registered at 8 Craig Ridge Place, Dalgety Bay, KY11 9NE. We manufacture cabinetry in Glenrothes, Fife.

They apply alongside the accepted quotation, approved drawings, specification and agreed payment schedule. Any expressly agreed written variation takes precedence where lawful.

2. Quotations and orders

Quotations are normally valid for 30 calendar days from issue and are based on the measurements, specification and information available when prepared.

Unless expressly included, prices exclude plumbing, electrical, structural, plastering, decorating or third-party works. We will agree additional work and charges before proceeding.

An order is confirmed following approval of the quotation and specification and receipt of the initial payment, subject to applicable cancellation rights. Relevant contract information will be supplied by email or another durable medium.

3. Design and approval

We will develop designs around your agreed needs, space and budget. Drawings and visualisations convey the proposal but screen colours can differ from physical samples.

Please check the final layout, dimensions, finishes and specifications before approving manufacture. Later changes may affect price and completion dates and will be agreed before undertaking chargeable extra work.

We remain responsible for supplying goods and services meeting the agreed contract and applicable law.

4. Measurements and site conditions

Where CNC surveys the site, we will take reasonable care with measurements. Identify dimensions supplied by you or a third party so necessary verification can be agreed.

Please tell us about known water leaks, damp, uneven floors or walls, concealed services, access restrictions and structural problems. Any previously hidden issues requiring chargeable remedial work will be explained and agreed before that work proceeds.

5. Payment terms

The proposed standard stages are: 50% after final design, specification and quotation approval; 20% before manufacture begins; 20% seven calendar days before agreed delivery or collection; and the remaining 10% following completion of the agreed installation.

The exact amounts and due dates will appear in your quotation or payment schedule. Supply-only and specialist orders may use a different written schedule.

Payments can be made by bank transfer or another accepted method. Where an undisputed amount is overdue, we may reasonably defer future work after communicating with you. Any statutory remedy for faulty goods or services and lawful right to withhold payment is unaffected.

The quotation will identify whether VAT is applicable.

6. Manufacturing and lead times

We will advise estimated manufacture, delivery and installation dates and update you on material supplier delays or other significant changes.

Agreed deadlines and legal remedies for late performance continue to apply. Design changes or new work may require a revised agreed timetable.

7. Delivery and installation

We will confirm delivery and installation arrangements. Please provide a safe, reasonably clear work area and tell us about narrow doorways, stairs, parking or access restrictions.

We will take reasonable precautions to protect your property and will install with reasonable care and skill. Electricity, water, access and preparation arrangements will be agreed where relevant.

Associated trades and additional work outside the quotation will be coordinated and charged only on terms agreed with you.

8. Changes, postponements and cancellations

Please contact CNC promptly if you wish to alter, delay or cancel the project.

Made-to-measure or clearly personalised goods can be exempt from certain statutory change-of-mind cancellation rights, but this does not automatically apply to every part of a combined goods and services contract.

Where statutory cancellation rights apply, we will provide the required information and honour those rights. Otherwise, any charges will reflect reasonable evidenced costs, completed work and actual losses, taking account of avoided costs and reusable materials. An initial deposit is not automatically wholly non-refundable.

We will discuss reasonable additional costs of postponement before agreeing arrangements. Legal rights for breach of contract remain unaffected.

9. Materials and finishes

Timber and decorative materials may vary in grain, pattern, texture and colour. Screen representations are not exact samples. Normal material variation is not necessarily a fault if the product meets the agreed description and legal standards.

Please follow product care instructions and use suitable cleaning products. Changes in finish from sunlight or normal use do not remove your rights concerning genuinely faulty products.

10. Completion, inspection and snagging

Following installation, we will invite you to review the work and report defects or incomplete items. We will investigate legitimate concerns and agree reasonable arrangements for repairs or completion.

Minor snags may require a return visit. You are not required to accept defective work, waive statutory rights or pay sums which you may lawfully withhold for genuine defects.

11. Manufacturing guarantee and installation workmanship

Subject to directors’ approval and final written confirmation, CNC proposes a five-year voluntary guarantee against manufacturing workmanship defects and a two-year guarantee against installation workmanship defects, starting from the relevant delivery or completion date specified in the guarantee.

Third-party fittings may carry separate manufacturers’ warranties. Where CNC supplied the item, we remain the customer’s contact for statutory remedies.

Voluntary cover may exclude damage genuinely caused by impact, misuse, inappropriate cleaning, unauthorised alterations, normal wear or unsuitable environmental conditions where these caused the failure.

Please contact us with project details and a description of the issue; photographs may help an initial assessment. Voluntary guarantees are additional to, and do not affect, statutory rights.

12. Damage, faults and complaints

Contact info@cncabinetry.co.uk or 01592 421460 with concerns. We may request project information or arrange an inspection.

Where goods or services fail to meet the contract or statutory requirements, we will provide the appropriate remedy required by law without charging for a remedy legally due without charge.

13. Design documents and ownership

Unless otherwise agreed, CNC retains the applicable intellectual property rights in our original designs, drawings and manufacturing files. Customers may use documents to review their CNC project; rights to reuse manufacturing files with another supplier must be agreed in writing.

Ownership of goods and risk of accidental loss are subject to applicable law and written contractual arrangements. Nothing permits CNC to enter property or remove installed goods without lawful authority.

14. Events outside our reasonable control

Significant events outside our reasonable control may delay works. We will communicate promptly and reasonably minimise disruption. Agreed arrangements and applicable consumer remedies remain available.

15. Liability and statutory rights

We will supply goods meeting legal standards and carry out services with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Consumer Rights Act 2015 protections and other statutory rights remain unaffected.

16. Personal information

We use relevant details to handle enquiries, quotations, designs, orders, manufacturing, payments, installation and aftercare. Our separate Privacy Policy explains data handling.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by Scots law, subject to mandatory consumer protections and applicable court-jurisdiction rules.
